Mid-Week Overnight Run to Pinnacle Valley Resort
This one is going to be a Mid-Week Run “with a difference”. Lunch, dinner an overnight stay and some of the best roads in this part the State!
We will meet at McDonalds in Ringwood on Thursday morning for a quick coffee and check in then head off towards Seville, before going cross country from Woori Yallock to Healesville. We will then take the winding scenic road up to Toolangi then pick up the Maroondah Highway before cutting across Break ‘o Day Road and on to Trawool. Lunch will be at Trawool Estates in the beautiful Golburn Valley (at own cost), which has recently reopened after extensive renovations.
Following a relaxed lunch we will continue on for an overnight stay at Sebel Pinnacle Valley Resort. We head back towards Yea but take a very picturesque route via Highlands and Caveat, before coming back onto the Maroondah Highway at Yarck. If you’ve never done this route before, you’re in for a real treat! It’s a narrower gently winding road, through stunning farmland. We will then cruise on to Mansfield and Merrijig before settling in for the night at the Sebel. A group dinner has been organised at the resort’s Peak Restaurant (at own cost).
On Friday morning there will be an optional run up to Mount Buller summit. From there you can either head directly back to Melbourne or take a scenic route via Howqa and Jamieson, bringing us into the back of Eildon. The last section of this road from Jamieson to Snobs Creek (approximately 70 kms) is a very twisty road, but highly enjoyable from a driver’s perspective (not recommended for any passengers who gets car sick). There will be an opportunity to get a quick lunch in Alexandra (at own cost) before we head back towards Healesville. From there people can take their preferred route home after a sensational two days of driving and dining.
There are some limitations on the amount of accommodation available at Sebel Pinnacle Valley Resort, so you are encouraged to book your accommodation sooner rather than later (at own cost). Please email Alison once you have booked your accommodation so you can be included in the dinner booking (alison9114s@gmail.com).
