Philip Island

PCV Display at The Phillip Island Classic

Be part of The Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport by participating in the PCV's "Shannons Walk" Display.

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Australia’s most popular classic motor sport event, the VHRR has extended the circuit program to encompass a record 44 events. It will again attract the largest entry of any historic car racing event in the Southern Hemisphere, with close to 500 racing, sports and touring cars spanning 100 years expected to be on the entry list.

The ‘Classic’ for the past three years has been a short-listed finalist in the International Historic Motoring Awards, competing against such prestigious events at the UK’s Goodwood Revival and Silverstone Classic, Belgium’s Spa Six Hour Historic Festival and the US’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca.

Of particular interest to PCV members, one of the world’s most famous and valuable racing 911s – the 1974 Carrera RSR 3.0 litre coupe in which CanAm champion Mark Donohue scored his final race win just months before his death in early 1975 – will compete. The distinctive ‘Continental Orange’ RSR 3.0 was one of just 15 special, mechanically-identical 911 Carrera coupes built by Porsche for a ‘who’s who’ of racing drivers to contest the International Race of Champions (IROC) series in the United States during 1974.

By registering to display your car you will receive - Free entry for the driver and discounted entry for your passengers; Secure parking among like-minded enthusiasts; The opportunity to promote your club. A CAMS disclaimer must be read and signed, and will be collected at the event.

The Walk will be run on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th March, with one large roped off premium area for cars to be displayed.

For drivers of display cars to obtain free entry and be able to purchase discounted tickets for their passengers at the Phillip Island Circuit Entry Gate, the green WINDSCREEN STICKER MUST be attached to the car. These stickers will be sent to each participant prior to the event.

BOOKINGS CLOSED. For assistance contact Carly on administrator@pcv.com.au or 9817 6911.
