Sunday 8th September

I would like to invite all PCV members to join me on what is going to be a Spring Run with a difference, literally.

I need to make this clear - this run will surprise everyone. Instead of the usual Porsche Club Run will be enjoying the sights of Melbourne from a different vantage point and it doesn't include your favourite car!

What better way to experience Melbourne's sights than along the bay on a boat cruise? You read correctly - it’s an exclusive boat cruise aboard Victoria Star (now that’s an appropriate name and it’s a lovely boat). A run with a difference which should enrich your senses while taking in the sights of Melbourne from a vantage point on the bay, aboard a beautiful boat full of character and history.

Hopefully by now your senses are stirred with excitement and anticipation as to what's installed ahead!

The cruise will depart from the Docklands where the Victoria Star will be waiting for us moored on the jetty opposite Marvel Stadium. By the way Docklands has a history that goes back as far as the early 1800’s when Melbourne was at its birth stage as a city. The cruise will take us past some familiar ports that will be viewed at a relaxing pace. We will see the sights of Williamstown and St Kilda and everything else in between which many of us have never experienced from the bay.

In case you are wondering, the boat cruise will be a very pleasant leisurely 3.5 hour experience and during this time we will be enjoying excellent hospitality.  Once we board there will be a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres to welcome everyone. It should be a memorable start of our event!  Lunch will be an inside seated two course (main & dessert) buffet style meal.  Please note that this boat has a capacity of 350 people, so there will be plenty of space for our group of approx 80-100 to move around and loads of room inside so no problem if the weather isn't perfect.

As you may have gathered this is not a regular social run and due to time restraints a run beforehand won’t be possible.  This means everyone has a choice as to how they wish to arrive at Docklands. You can drive in your vehicle of choice, get a lift or use public transport. Parking is plentiful on Sunday mornings, specific details below in "Information" area.

Please note all members will need to arrive where the boat will be docked at 11:45am to have your name ticked off the attendee list by the organiser Kon. Boarding will commence at 12pm for a 12:30pm departure.

Hope you will be able to join our Spring Run with a twist.  Look forward to seeing you aboard what should be a great PCV adventure.

Optional coffee catchup before the cruise: In this area at Docklands there are not many Cafes open before 11am on Sundays. If you wish to arrive earlier for a coffee there are two Cafes to consider. Mill & Bakery Cafe on Central Pier, Shed 9, 161 Harbur Esplanade (with room inside for 30 people) open from 7:30am (this is where you will find Kon). The other is Nixon Cafe at 757 Bourke St, open from 10:30am, opposite Marvel Stadium.
