Sandown Winter Sprint - Sunday 28 June 2015

Welcome back to the popular and easy to get to Sandown Raceway for our third event there this year.

Gates open 7.00am.

Entry Fee - $230 or $220 with your own competition number.

Competition Class

Evidence of prior track experience or satisfactory completion of a high performance driver-training course is a Club requirement for the timed competition classes.

All competitors will require a Dorian transponder to be fitted to their cars for official times to be recorded. Please make sure they are properly fitted and charged. Dorians can be hired for the day, but must be booked at time of entry. New dorian units can be purchased from Carly via

Entrée Class

Entrants in the entrée class get separate sessions of un-timed practice. Instructors will be provided from experienced club members. No advanced driver training, fire extinguishers or Dorians are required. All you need is a CAMS Level 2S Licence, an approved helmet, suitable clothing (see Supp Regs) and a roadworthy vehicle. If your vehicle has a tow hook in the tool kit, it should be fitted – either front or rear. This is the perfect introduction to track days for new members.

Please note Entrée Class numbers are strictly limited.

The initial allocation of garages has been fully booked, but more can be booked with Sandown directly for the same price of $60. Contact Brendan Stuart -  mobile: 0403 189 352 or if Brendan's unavailble then try Rodney Port - .

A coffee cart will be available from 0730 to approx.1430 on a cash sale basis.

Pizzas will be available for lunch from approx. 1130 to 1400.

Passenger Runs During Lunch Break

As per the Supp Regs., Competitors can arrange to take passengers out for a few laps during the lunch break. However this option will only be opened when enough drivers have agreed to take out any marshals that are keen to do a few laps.

Open Pit Afternoon Session

If participants’ numbers drop off by mid-afternoon, we may consider the option of having a timed open pit from around 3:30pm. This open pit session may be declared either timed or untimed. If untimed, entrants can take another entrant with them on the track for coaching or vehicle evaluation purposes. Track density will reduce to 15 if untimed.

A final decision on exercising this option will be made on the day.

PCV Marshalling Team - Please contact Mark Behan via email if you are available to assist with this event or are new and would like to give marshalling a try.
