993 REGISTER RUN - 30TH MARCH 2014

TO YARRA GLEN & LUNCH AT THE HARGREAVES HILL BREWING Co. RESTAURANT.

Hargreaves Hill Brewing Co began brewing in 2004, in a little green shed on Hargreaves Road in Steels Creek, just below the hill named by the locals ‘Hargreaves Hill.’ Simon Walkenhorst and his wife Beth Williams began the brewery together with a thirst for more choice and quality in the Australian beer market. The original brewery was small with a brewlength of only 400 litres, and every stage of brewing and packaging was by hand. Before too long the first two products Pale Ale and Porter had found a dedicated audience, and the brewery began plans to expand its brewlength. A cellar door and restaurant was established in Yarra Glen in 2007 to allow customers better access to the products, and a greater range of beers were developed, including the much loved ESB, and Abbey Dubbel or AD. The company has a simple philosophy, choose good quality ingredients and create great flavour and balance.

It’s time to hear the sound of the air cooled engines as we wind our way through some great scenery and some fantastic roads on the way to this very nice four star restaurant.

We will travel through Emerald, Belgrave, Launching Place, and the Toolangi State Forest over Mount Slide and back to Yarra Glen.
