We are now in the final phase of organising our very exciting trip to Porsche & Mercedes with the added benefit of a day at the Nurburgring Nordschlife.

Places are filling quickly, so book early to avoid missing this exceptional value and exciting trip. A non refundable cheque for 100 euro per person should be sent to club secretary, Margaret Sheridan, as an expression of intent and to book your place. Anyone who is not successful in getting on this trip will have their cheque returned. Places are limited to two person’s max including the fully paid up member.

Members should wait to have their name confirmed by Margaret that they have a place on the trip before they make any bookings.

Those with a confirmed place then should make their own travel and accommodation reservations as outlined below.

• We plan to meet in Dublin airport on Thursday 26th March at 5.30 / 6am for a 6.45am departure with Aer Lingus to Frankfurt: AER LINGUS EI 650 - DEP DUBLIN THU 26MAR09 - 6.45AM

Room Rates for those looking to stay at the Radisson Dublin Airport, including car parking will be sent in a separate mail. These room and special rates will be available for PCI members for either or both the Wednesday & Sunday nights. For those not looking for accommodation a car parking rate only will also be included.

• The return flight that you should book is: AER LINGUS EI 657 - DEP FRANKFURT SUN 29MAR09 - 8.15PM

Tickets are currently available on the Aer Lingus web site (www.aerlingus.com) at 71.20 euro return inc tax & booking fee!!! The earlier you book the better the price.

THURSDAY

We will be collected in Frankfurt by coach and will make a two hour connection to our hotel in the centre of Stuttgart;

The hotel booked in Stuttgart is the Hotel am Schlossgarten a five star in the city centre and should prove to be an excellent quality hotel and excellent value 164 euro per room (twin / double) including full breakfast per night.

We expect to depart the hotel by 2pm and travel by coach to the Mercedes Benz Museum for the afternoon.

We will return to our hotel before walking to a local restaurant for dinner.

FRIDAY

Friday morning we have an early start where we expect to depart our hotel by 8.00am for a 9.00am arrival at Porsche.

This is the highlight of our trip where we will be the second Porsche Club in the World to be hosted by Porsche AG and to have officially visited their all New Porsche Museum.

The day will be spent between the Museum and the Factory at Zuffenhausen.

Dinner on Friday night will be hosted by Porsche AG in a local restaurant.

SATURDAY

Saturday we have allowed for a lie in or opportunity to see a Stuttgart. Once on our coach it is a 3 hour transfer to the Nurbergring Nordschleife.

We will check into our hotel, Am Tiregarten, owned by the family of Sabine Schmitz. She was the first woman in racing history to win a 24 hours race, even twice in a row 1996 and 1997 with the team of Johannes Scheid and is regularly seen in various motoring publications and TV appearances. www.am-tiergarten.de

Depending on our arrival time, we may have the opportunity soak up the atmosphere & watch the action from the public access pits or get out to one of the many vantage points around the track and watch the action. Or just go to the pub…

Dinner will be in our hotel at 8pm.

SUNDAY

Sunday morning those interested in getting out on the track should depart the hotel at 10am to take the short stroll to RSR right next to the entrance.

We are currently speaking to Ron at RSR who is open to work with us and tailor a package suitable for our group. They run a school at the track and provide cars from Alfa 75’s through to GT3RS’s. Prices vary greatly and we will communicate this directly with you in an effort to accommodate our group and individual budgets. An opportunity not to be missed.

A sample of the packages available are a demo lap in the GT3 RS ( 190 Euro per driver ) or a combo lap in a Alfa 75TS ( 90 Euro per driver )

Other options are:

• Alfa 75TS or Clio Cup to share with 2 drivers Euro 400 per driver (based on 2 drivers per car)

• M3 CSL to share with 2 drivers - Euro 750 per driver; insurance euro 300 per driver is extra as is mandatory instruction for a minimum of 2 hours per driver at euro 125 per hour

We will need to depart the Nurburgring at 4.30pm latest to make the 1.5 hour transfer back to Frankfurt where our flight will be due to depart at 8.15pm back to Dublin.

The total cost so far is estimated at 650 euro excluding car hire at the Ring and based on you getting the flight at up to 100.00 euro.
