President's Message

Welcome to the Porsche Club of Victoria and our website pcv.com.au.

A recent Club survey confirmed ‘Interest in Porsche/Porsche Marque’ as the strongest reason to join the Club. So, if you are a Porsche enthusiast - you have come to the right place!

We are Porsche enthusiasts and provide a magnificent platform to share the passion of your Porsche and the Porsche marque with like-minded people. Your Club is part of the Australian and global Porsche Community, being an officially approved Porsche Club (#52) and a member Club of Motorsport Australia. We appreciate the support of Porsche Cars Australia and Porsche Centres Melbourne, Brighton, and Doncaster.

At the last gathering of International Porsche Clubs, delegates were acknowledged for helping to animate the brand. At Porsche Club of Victoria, animating the Porsche brand is exactly what we do through social activities and Club nights, Register runs and ‘Cars and Coffee’, through our extensive Competition program and much more. All members are welcome and encouraged to participate as fully as they can in what our Club offers.

Let me give you an overview of just some of the activities available.

The ‘Club Magazine & Publications’ section of the website provides a great source of club history. It contains all our club magazines ‘Porsche Parade’ grouped by decade, as well as our 40th Anniversary Book. ‘Porsche Parade’ features many interesting stories about club events, members, and their cars, including wonderful photos, and other articles of interest to Porsche enthusiasts.

The ‘Events (inc. past results)’ tab on the website contains our calendar of events. Be quick though! Tickets to some of our events are filled and close very quickly. Note that many have waiting lists and often waiting list places become participants.

The Club offers a rich and varied assortment of activities, including ‘cars and coffee’ type gatherings, day runs to lunch venues, as well as occasional overnight and multi-day runs within Victoria and sometimes interstate, open to all club members.

Depending on your Porsche model – you may automatically be joined as a member of one of our Registers. The Registers exist for cars of a particular year, group or model and offer social runs, as well as technical information events specific to that group. Perhaps the best introduction to the club is to go to one of your Registers events. These groups tend to be smaller and more personal, which can in turn create lasting friendships.

Our fabulous Club nights are generally held at Porsche Centres Melbourne, Brighton, Doncaster, and other topical locations. They are generally catered and include dinner, social gathering, and interesting guest speakers from all walks of life and motorsport. Come along and share your passion for Porsche with other members!

The Annual Dinner Dance is usually held in early December and finishes off our year with an exceptional gala event, and usually includes the award of competition trophies.

With Porsche having such a strong history and alignment with motorsport, our track program features prominently. There is an annual series of circuit, hill climb and motorkhana racing, at tracks such as Sandown, Phillip Island, Winton, Bryant Park and Broadford. There are class and overall championships held over a 10+ round season. There is a non-competitive Entrée section, which allows inexperienced track drivers to enjoy the experience of taking their cars onto the track in a controlled non-competitive (but still challenging) environment. Our Competition Director can be contacted at motorsport@pcv.com.au

Of course, the Club can’t run Competition events without our Marshals. This active group support every competition event and enjoy intimate access to, and knowledge of, all facets of on-track competition, either as a qualified senior official, at trackside flag points, or in a variety of other roles. Again, camaraderie is high, and many personal friendships are made in this group. Our Marshals coordinator can be contacted at marshals@pcv.com.au .

The club has many ways in which members participate, volunteer, and organise. Above all, this is a club of competent, friendly, and interesting people, of great diversity, who enjoy their cars and each other with great enthusiasm.

Contact me, other committee members, or our administrator, through the details on this site.

Once again, welcome to the Porsche Club of Victoria.
