The 2017 'Picnic in the Park' was once more, well supported by PCI members and friends, with people coming from all over the country to participate.

It was a lovely bright and warm afternoon to enjoy the pizza, cookies and wine provided by the club and when these were scoffed we went to the second course.  This involved utilising Baz's extensive culinary skills in feeding the masses with his BBQ'd franks and hot dogs in the lovely surroundings of many nice motors, oh and of course, Marlay Park itself!  Any convertible owner definitely wanted to drive their cars in that sort of weather. We had about 20 cars over the course of the afternoon and evening joining the appx. 400 other cars parked up in front of Marlay House. They varied from classic and vintage cars, vans, motor bikes along with more modern cars across the spectrum of manufacturers some of whom are long since gone out of business.

The Picnic is an annual event organised by the Irish Veteran and Vintage Car Club https://www.ivvcc.ie/ and every year they host this to benefit LauraLynn Childrens Charity https://lauralynn.ie/ who provide palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Definitely a good cause and one that PCI members have fully embraced over the last 10 years.

Thanks to everyone who came along and seemed to be that people had a good time, so in 2018 make sure you get there too!
