On Sunday 25th April, a lovely sunny afternoon, 14 Porsches met up at Ambrose Glass, Kilternan. With a photographer on hand taking some great shots, there was time for a chat and a refuel before making our way into the Wicklow mountains.

At 12.30pm, 12 of the 14 cars headed out on a 2 hour drive taking in some spectacular scenery along the way!

We drove up to Enniskerry taking a right turn at the village.

When we reached Glencree we stopped off at the Glencree Reconciliation Centre and walked across to have a look at the German Graveyard.

The graveyard is in a beautiful location. Most of the graves belong to flyers of the Second World War and were washed up on our shores. I believe a few of the deceased were recovered from aircraft that crashed throughout Ireland, particularly on the west and south west coast. As far as I know, there was one German aircraft that crashed in the Wicklow hills.

We were stopped here for approx. 20 mins, getting another few photos, which turned out really well with the old Military Barracks as a backdrop, before we set off again toward Sally Gap.

The roads were good, and the views were breathtaking! We cruised along in convoy getting some great shots, enjoying the blue skies and green hills. At times throughout the drive it felt like you were a million miles away from civilization!

On finally entering Laragh we drove towards Rathdrum, passing through the ‘Meeting of the waters’ in the vale of Avoca.

The roads were very wet but thankfully we never saw a drop of rain the whole way.

We arrived at the Wooden bridge hotel right on target, at 2.30pm, where we were shown into our own private room and served a beautiful meal (which was welcomed by all at this stage!).

Everyone sat down and enjoyed a chat and a laugh with good food in a great setting.

Another terrific PCI outing!! Heres to the next one!!
