1st round of the PCI - Karting Championship 2012 on Sunday the 26th of February
At White River Park in Collon Co. Louth
Meeting time at: 13.30 hrs.
Drivers briefing at: 13.45 hrs.
Session start at: 14.00 hrs.
Session status: Grand Prix ca.1 hr, session with Grand Prix Final race
We will need 12 Drivers for this session everybody is welcome, bring your friends / family for a bit of fun and help make up the numbers.
This is the first race of the new Championship season and what better way to kick off the season in Whiteriver Park. I would like to thank again all participants from last year’s Championship and hope to see you all again this year for some fantastic racing, reignite camaraderie and rivalry as well as to invite any new members and friends who would like to have as much fun as we have. The theme is racing for the Championship with emphasis on a lot of Fun as well as Racing.
The Venue is one of the best tracks in the country and prominent with Karting Clubs from all over Ireland. It was the location of last year’s Charity Pro-Karting Endurance race in March, where Porsche Club Ireland participated and finished 5th place out of 15 teams.
The Track is 1200 m long and 8 m wide inviting for overtaking manoeuvres, with quality surface rarely to be seen and entices for some great racing.
Drivers get a 4 lap practice session, followed by 2 qualifying heats.
Grid positions are determined by points/times scored in qualifying heats and all the drivers will compete in the grand finale or pending on numbers in an A + B Final.
It’s a must been venue for anyone who loves a bit of "craic" and would like to test his driving skills on a track in Kart Racing.

Last year’s Championship throw up some fantastic racing all season by all who participated and I can’t wait for another Year with everybody having fun.
We will have an “Après session” in a local Restaurant/Pub/Hotel after the race to which our local PCI-Members will give advice to.
Newcomers to the Karting fraternity are always welcome and will be looked after to the best of our ability’s.
