Cancellation of the Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show in Terenure College.
It is with great regret that the Irish Jaguar & Daimler Club (IJDC) have decided to cancel the 29th Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show due to be held in Terenure College on July 5th. The health and safety of all of those who come together for Ireland's largest car show has been paramount in making this decision. This includes entrants, volunteers, trade exhibitors, IJDC members, contractors and the general public. The IJDC also wishes to recognise the support received by the Gardai and other emergency services in running the show and to thank them for their ongoing work in controlling the Covid-19 outbreak in Ireland.
As the show takes place in the grounds of a working secondary school it is not possible to reschedule the event for later this year. Instead the IJDC will focus their efforts on next year's show to be held on the first weekend in July 2021.Until then we ask you to continue to support our trade exhibitors, many of whom continue to trade online, and who we can put you in contact with if required. Due to the success of last year's show the Club is pleased to be in a position to support existing charities during these difficult times and we thank our entrants and traders who have made this possible.
IJDC Chairman Niall O'Reilly said "We did not come to this decision lightly as we understand what a central part the Terenure Show plays in the Irish Classic Car season and Dublin's Summer calendar but we trust that everyone will understand and support a decision made in the national interest. It is incumbent on all of us to support the Government, the HSE and the frontline services in tackling the Coronavirus outbreak. The show was cancelled once before, due to the Foot & Mouth outbreak in 2001, and the interval allowed us to come back with a bigger and better event and we are certain that this will be the situation now as we begin working towards 2021."
