The current route and details for Estuary run are a follows:
Drive via M18 motorway through limerick tunnel and onto Clarecastle.
Taking estuary way route R473 to Labasheeda.
Arrive at Labasheeda approx. 10.00 for coffee break
Depart 10.45 at the latest
Continue onto junction with R486 turning onto R486 passing through Knock.
Pass by Kilimer Ferry port. (optional meeting point for SR members).
R486 now becomes N67.
Drive past Moneypoint Power station
Turn onto Coast road and pass through Cappagh.
On into Kilrush.
Take N67 from Kilrush to Kilkee.
Leave Kilkee taking R487 to Carrigaholt.
Continue along R487 passing through Kilbaha until reaching Loop head light house.
Arrive Loop head light house approx. 11.45
45 minutes stop maximum for members to view the surrounding area.
Depart 12.30
Back to Kilbaha for comfort break at Keetings bar and restaurant.
Arrive at Keetings at 12.45.
30 minute break, coffee if needed.
Depart Kilbaha at 1.15.
Take coast road back to Kilkee
Take N67 to Doonbeg.
Arrive at Doonbeg at 2.15.
Brunch/lunch menu served at Morrissys Restaurant. (20 places reserved at present)
I have yet to finalise the return route back to Kilimer from Doonbeg. Probably will go cross country to Kilrush, but want to drive this road first to see if its suitable.
Southern Region:

Brief stops can be scheduled to pick up members at
Commons Road and again in Mallow near the Train station. Contact Sandra (above). N20 direct to Limerick.
Arrival at South Court Hotel, Raheen, Limerick. Eircode V94 E77X to join with MW region members and depart 9.00 am sharp following route along the Shannon estuary to Loop head and lunch stop in Doonabeg.
Afternoon route will cross the estuary on the Tarbert ferry and route back to Limerick through Foynes.
For those who wish to stay overnight in Limerick and avail of the opportunity to attend Limerick cars and coffee on Sunday September 25th. There is availability at the Kilmurray Lodge Hotel, Castletroy @ €229 per room per night. Eircode V94 WTC9. Contact number for the hotel is 061-331133.
Anyone who wishes to travel to Limerick on Friday night to reduce the extra drive on Saturday morning might like to stay at the South Court Hotel as this is the meeting and departure point for the main drive. The contact number for this hotel is 061-48748. Rate per room per night here is €201.
Anyone who wishes to return to Cork after the drive and not stay over can break from the route at any point and head home with ease on the N20.
Accommodation should be secured as soon as possible as availability is limited.
Route maps will be available on the day. It’s a great drive but a long one and well worth doing.
